Facemask

Yesterday I went christmasshopping but also kind of accidentally got a few bits and bobs for myself. Including this charcoal facemask from H&M. Their facemasks are about 2€ a piece. I used the whole thing in one go, which I do believe you’re meant to do. It was a mask for tired skin, and it felt very cooling and good (even if I looked extremely strange). I also bought an aloe vera one which I’ll most likely use next week. Facemasks are a great thing for the winter when your skin might feel more tired and perhaps dry, and also they’re refreshing when your mind and body is also tired from the dark and the cold. I love the feeling of pampering yourself, even with small things like this.

Sorry that the pictures are bad quality, it was very late at night, and very dark.  What do you do when you want to pamper yourself? xxx

Transformation Tuesday

I’m excited to start a healthier chapter in my life. I feel like everyone’s saying this all the time, especially now that we’re approaching the new year. I want this to work for me though. I also want to start right now, I don’t wanna make it an unserious resolution. I’m not doing it for looks, I’m doing it for happiness (and health). One of my goals is still to loose weight though. Some other goals are more flexibility and to start enjoying cardio more. I can do it!

I also want to have a better diet, and that’s where you guys come in. I’ve already started eating veggies as snacks instead of something else, and I also don’t really eat bread in the mornings. My hardest thing to cut is sodas. Today I ordered a few alternative drinks from a fitnesstore, as well as some green tea pills. Green tea is very good for the body, it helps in many cleansing ways, and I don’t like to drink tea so that’s why I bought the pills. My questions for you guys however are: What’s a food you’d like to see me cut out of my diet? What food do you think would be good to eat? Do you have any other advice, some people I should follow, some good workouts or recipes? I would truly appreciate all the tips and thoughts I can get. Xxx

A piece of advice

This is some advice for the ones of you who have never lived with someone, or are planning on living together with a best friend of yours. I would suggest you don’t do it. This might sound harsh, but I do believe it’s for the best.

I don’t have the best relationship with my roommate. She’s my best friend. I don’t want to say was (although that’s what it feels like) because I’m not giving up. However, I feel like she is. We’d made a deal that we would live together, and when a lifechange would occur we would talk about it (our only example was really if one of us wanted to move in with a future boyfriend). However, she is already talking (to other people, not me) about moving out next fall. I was the one who got the apartment, and I’m the one who’s gonna have to break the news that we don’t wanna live together anymore (to my sister who’s subletting to us). I’ll have to explain why, even though I don’t know why.

I have to admit this post is kind of all over the place. I just had to get it off my chest. I haven’t talked to my roommate yet, like had a long serious conversation. I will soon. I just don’t ever want to move in with a good friend again. Living together ruins friendships. Next time I live with someone it will be someone I am very much in love with. I can guarantee that.

What’s wrong with being confident?

I’m loving Demi Lovato’s lyrics lately. I mean they’ve always been pretty good and she covers great topics, but this bodypositivity lately has been awesome. I have no idea what Cool for the summer is really about, it might be about experimenting with your sexuality, I’m not sure. However, the lyric “don’t be scared cause I’m your bodytype” has really stuck with me. I think that could be about bodypositivity, or at least it’s probably interpreted in that way.

I’ve been thinking about just that. Men are often scared or ashamed to admit that they like girls that are, for example, a little bigger. I am not what you traditionally call a big girl, but I am bigger than the thin girls. I was so shocked when my last boyfriend loved me and was so public and open about it, and particularly about being attracted to me and finding me sexy etc. Even afterwards he has never said anything bad, even if he is with a  very thin girl now… I am thankful for that.

That might sound kind of silly. Shouldn’t it be obvious that he doesn’t say anything bad? Yes it should. I don’t think it is though. As I said, some people are ashamed of their preferences, even when it’s something this normal. I feel like more guys should be reminded that it shouldn’t matter what they find attractive. If you like big girls, fine. If you like small girls, that’s fine too. Why should it matter to other people? If a big girl is not your preference, don’t get involved with one. But don’t hate on other people’s preferences. And guys, don’t be so scared seriously. Just do whatever you want. xxx

Now obviously someone could say you shouldn’t always just look at the size, look at other things before that (personality and such). I completely agree but that would have to be a whole other post.

Mindfulness

Colouring for adults has become a trend lately and I’m loving it! I’m so obsessed with it, it’s very relaxing and calming. I really recommend it for everyone. I also like it because I suck at drawing, so this way I can be creative and have it actually turn out pretty.

Project 365

This is definitely one of my favorite apps at  the moment. It is a free app (called project 365, in case you missed it) and I use it daily. It is basically just an app where you can upload one photo every single day for 365 days. You can also caption the photos. It’s a great way to choose your favorite photos, and later a quick and fun way to go down memory lane. I am also a firm believer in writing positive things down as a way of letting more positivity in your life. For that I also have a jar on my nightstand that I fill with notes about positive things in my day (I also do that on a daily basis). I’m sure I’ll write more about that in another post, so you can find out more and do it yourselves as well! For now though, you should definitely download Project 365 from the app store. Here are some screenshots showing you how mine looks (only one picture per month I’ve had the app). It’s so fun and creative!  xxx
